colour

For quite a long time, our living room colours have been neutral. Dark brown leather sofa, dark furniture, pale walls etc. and I was fed up with it all, I wanted colour, I felt that a bit of colour would make us all so much happier, coming in through the front door and being met with bright, lovely colours smiling at you, perfect.

So on one of our many visits to Ikea, daughter S and I paused for a long time at the rugs, feeling the textures and admiring the many colours and she finally persuaded me that this rug  would look brilliant in our living room and brighten the place up.
And  she was right, I love it so very much and it does make me happy every time I come back into our home. But then I thought, well, you have to get a few other things to match it, don't you?, when I saw this clock in a catalogue, I just had to have it. There are 12 little photo frames all around the clock, which I haven't filled yet with our own photos.

Lucy, over at Attic 24 has rekindled my love for crochet. I taught myself how to crochet when I was a teenager, but didn't crochet much after that.
I thought I needed something else to colour my living room and made this:
Our living room is looking nice and bright for now, we need to re decorate in the next year or so, but I don't think I am brave enough to put a bright colour on the walls just yet.

I am also in the process of making another cushion, I found a lovely pattern here and this is how much I have done so far
Adding a bit of colour in my life definitely makes me very happy. And I am so happy that S shares my love for  colour, her room is so lovely and bright.
